Friday the 13th, A day for Superstitious People and also... A pathetic movie series!

Well, it's Friday the 13th so what better time than to recap the ridiculous film series of the same name...let's see..

1980 - Friday the 13th
1981 - Friday the 13th Part II (Imaginative!!)
1982 - Friday the 13th Part III (Clever!)

It's important to note how long it took to make these films.. wow, a whole year in between.. that's a sign of quality!! Let's move on to...

1984 - Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter (Sweet, the last one!)
1985 - Friday the 13th: A New Beginning (Dammit!!)
1986 - Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives (Well, duh!)

We've once again scrimped on quality to get these movies in theaters as soon as possible... after a one year break we again delve into the macabre world of...

1988 - Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood (I don't even know what this means...)
1989 - Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan (I'm hoping he'll kill me at this point.)

...a gap while the geniuses at New Line Cinema take control of the Franchise... and.. well...

1993 - Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday (I don't believe them for a second...)
2002 - Jason X (I can't adequately describe this myself.. so let's let the minions of Wikipedia take a crack at it....)

This movie begins in the near future. A team of government scientists at the Crystal Lake Research Facility has captured the notorious Jason Voorhees. Their plan is to freeze him in cryogenic suspension; but, as usual, things go horribly wrong, and Jason breaks free. A survivor of Jason's rampage lures him into the cryogenic chamber, but before she can escape, Jason mortally wounds her, and both are frozen in cryogenic suspension. Over 400 years later, on a contaminated, desolate planet Earth that has been abandoned for centuries, archaeologists discover the two frozen ancestors in the "ancient" underground remains of the Crystal Lake Research Facility. The lone survivor of the attack at the research facility centuries ago is unfrozen and revived. First presumed dead, Jason begins doing what he does best - silently stalking the crew, who fight for their lives as their numbers dwindle. Just when they think they have beat him, he becomes more powerful than ever.

I think it's important to note that this movie made Less Than 14 Million Dollars at the U.S. Box Office... and they still made another one!

2003 - Freddy vs. Jason (I still maintain this would have been far more interesting if he had battled Fred Flintstone... but no one listened...)

This one made 82 million. Why on earth haven't they done another? (I shouldn't tempt them.. let's end this...)

Sadly, I own Friday the 13th: Part III. I have no idea why. I don't think that i have even ever sat down and viewed the film, but whatever. Someday, if i ever feel, for some odd reason, that i need to view it, I know i have it.... somewhere. Needless to say, they are a good laugh for their stupidity and ridiculousness (is this a word? it is now). So, i will leave you with this amazing statement by a comedian.

Comedian: I can't believe they're making another Friday the 13th sequel. These kids are so easy to kill you could strangle one with a cordless phone...
